Our client is a unique restaurant, bar and event venue.
The Job
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the with all relevant team members that head up the Bar / Restaurant Kitchen
Work with the events team to collaborate and ideate with clients to understand their event needs and preferences.
Develop and manage event timelines
Coordinate with vendors, including catering and entertainment
Ensure all events meet the client’s high expectations.
Be open to conducting “retrospectives” with the team, conducting post-event evaluations from both client and team, to gather feedback and use this to iterate, evolve, and optimize future events to delight our customers.
Bar Management:
Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Work alongside the head barman, mixologists, chef, and others to ensure our drinks and special promotions are relevant and current.
Ensure staff are managing inventory, including ordering supplies and controlling costs.
Alongside our head bartender, train, supervise, and schedule bar staff to provide excellent customer service. Where necessary, give staff the relevant guidelines to conduct, ensuring brand alignment throughout.
Address customer complaints, escalate where necessary, and ensure guest satisfaction.
Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, and train event and management staff.
Ensure that the company is an employer of choice amongst F&B establishments, fostering collaboration, camaraderie, and high employee engagement as measured by lower-than-industry turnover rates and encouraging teamwork.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
Ensure staff adherence to company policies and procedures.
Financial Management:
Prepare and manage budgets for events and bar operations.
Monitor financial performance, including revenue and expenses, through working alongside our in-house accountant.
Prepare financial reports and forecasts for management review.
Marketing and Promotions:
Ensure that marketing is consistent through working with PR companies and other leads.
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and bar offerings.
Utilise social media and other channels to reach potential clients and guests.
The Person
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience in event management and bar operations, preferably in a leadership role.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in event management software and point-of-sale systems.
Knowledge of alcohol laws and regulations.
